Dear Friends of District 49,
I am deeply honored to serve my constituents of Franklin, Nash, and
Halifax Counties as
District 49's Representative in the North Carolina House. Here
at home, one of the greatest joys of my terms has been building
the working relationships with individuals and groups who are striving
to enhance life for all of us in District 49.

Recognized as One of the Most Effective
Legislators in 2007-2008
In its rankings of effectiveness for members of the 2007-2008
North Carolina General Assembly, the nonpartisan N.C. Center for
Public Policy Research reported that my hard work and skills as a
legislator resulted in my rank as the 18th most effective legislator
in the State House out of 119 members. To read my press
